Mission Updates 2010
Dear Family, Friends, Brothers/Sisters in Christ, and Neighbors,

I pray for our Lord to continue to be with you and bless you. I hope everything is well with you. Many things are impacting us more each day, (Sickness, Financial Problems, Oil Spills, Earthquakes, Volcanoes, Storms, Christian Persecution, Unstable Governments, etc.). It is sometimes hard to be joyful. But, through all this I am joyful and I eagerly look forward to the new heavens and new earth as promised by our Savior, Isaiah 65:17.

In my last update in 2009, I focused on trials. Since then I experienced a wonderful Christmas retreat sharing time with most of you, (Wedding party, lunches, dinners, amusement parks). I am looking forward to our next trip to the US.

I want to thank everyone for their prayers. In the second term by the Lord's Blessing:
1) The Thursday morning prayer group became a norm.
2) I was able to spend time after school with students playing basketball.
3) I was able to develop a connection with my students, getting them to stop cutting class, smoking in school, eliminate electronic devices, to achieve their abilities, to understand that their education is important for their success in this world, and to share with them the word of God.

Then came 2010 Summer Camp, It was great! I was asked to teach 5Th grade ESL and sports, and you all know how much I enjoy sports. Many teachers came to me and said:
1) What a great ESL class.
2) The sports program has never been so good at summer camp
3) I am happy that you are apart of the Summer Camp Educational Program

Thank you again for your prayers & support this year, it has been very enjoyable at Thai Christian School.

I received shocking news right before the Summer Educational Camp. Thai Christian School advised me they would not be issuing me a new contract. Wow
, this was the first time in my life I was fired in a way. They advised me the reason for not issuing a new contract was because I needed to take off 4 weeks for completion of my Master's of Education degree during the 1st term of the 2010-2011 school year. I was sad
to hear this because I will miss all my students, please see picture of note to my students. I am currently praying about another opportunity at different Christian School.

My current plans are to complete my Master's in June/July and work with local church missions.

I have taken down my 2007 mission report to protect Moroccan Christians and Christian Missionaries in Morocco. I have been in contact with some of my brothers and sisters in/from Morocco to see what I can do. The Moroccan government has decided it is in their best interest to purge Christians from Morocco for proselytizing. Please pray that the King or government take action to stop this from occurring. In the past Morocco has enforced this law, lightly. What the government does not realize is the benefit to its people and community, (education, housing, child care, job training, support for the disabled, financial benefits, tourism). For Christians this is about loving our neighbors.

Kare has been active in Children's Ministry at Sapan Luang Chinese Thai Church. She will be completing her first year there in June.

I would like to give thanks to God for keeping Kare and I safe here in Thailand, and pray for continued guidance. I would like to lift up to God a prayer of concern for Morocco, Moroccan Christians, and Moroccan Missionaries.

Thank you for prayers and support
May the Love, Hope, Joy, and Blessings of Jesus be with you

With Love,
Rocco & Kare.
