Missions 2009
Off to Thailand 09 March 19, 2009
Dear family and friends,
I hope all of you are doing well, if not please let me know I want to pray for you. It has been a blessing seeing all of you these past three months. I have enjoyed sharing Jesus's work in Thailand and His calling. I have also enjoyed sharing about my soon to be new wife Kare, who I will on marry on May 2. Please pray for me and the Lord's work in Thailand. I will be leading students to Christ and teaching secondary math at Thai Christian School. In addition, I will be evangelizing through teaching English at two Churches and working with Mike and Gay at the Well. I want to thank the churches and individuals who Jesus has led in providing support for my ministry. It brings me much joy to have their support. The Lord has provided about 1/3 my costs for this year. I will be praying for the remaining 2/3 of support needed. Donations can be sent to Kirkpatrick Memorial Presbyterian Church designated to Rocco's mission fund.

Dear Family, Friends, Brothers/Sisters in Christ, and Neighbors,
I pray that you have had many blessings this year and are full of joy. I pray for those who have had many trials this year that our Lord Jesus is with you. If you truly believe in Jesus these trials are a blessing, please see the Book of James 1:2-4 (NIV), (2)Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, (3)because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. (4)Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.
This year I have experienced some trials myself and I would like to share with you. Serving Christ
at TCS, my passion was to share Christ with the students, parents, and foreign teachers.
I started a prayer/bible study group for teachers in the morning but after two months of promoting I had little success last term. Through this trial, the Spirit of Lord has kept me strong. I am now full of joy because this term I have a wonderful fellowship with two Christian teachers. I continue to pray that more will come to the group and plan to open it up to students.
I have prayed about different activities where I could share Christ with students. I tried starting a bag-mitten team but the students who were interested never came to sign-up. Through this trial, the Spirit of the Lord has given me strength to keep pursuing other opportunities and directed me to play basketball and soccer with the students.
In the classroom, it is great. I had the chance to share with the students but my trial here this first term has been getting to know my students, and taking care of: cell phones, video games, talking, and inappropriate behavior. Through this trial, the Spirit of the Lord has helped me to know my students better and for them to know me better. In addition, through this trial the Spirit of the Lord has given me great love for these students.
I have had other trials but these too have not weakened me and I continue to endure joyfully because I know the Spirit is with me. This term I have enjoyed reading the book of Job, my wife's favorite book of the Bible. I recommend this book to everyone, especially those of you who have had or are having difficult trials this year. It is amazing when you grow in faith with God you learn that these trials are important for you to fully develop, as in James 1:4 (NIV) (4)Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.
I will have pictures on the website towards the end of November. I want to thank everyone who supports my ministry here. I hope you really know how much your support is a blessing to others and me here in Thailand. Because of your support, I am able to be here in Thailand as a servant of our Savior. I do not only share Christ at the school but everywhere I go in Thailand. In the next few weeks, I am planning on going to an area to help where Christians and non-Christians are struggling, (I will give more details in the future). My prayer is that the Lord continues to bless you much.
May the love, hope, joy, and Blessings of Jesus be with you always.
In Him,
With Great Love from
Rocco & Kare
